The House of Representatives is to meet with the Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU, and other stakeholders as part of efforts to find a lasting solution to the lingering strike embarked by the union.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Clerk of the House of Representatives in Abuja today, Yahaya Danzaria.
He said the meeting will take place tomorrow at the National Assembly, the House of Representatives wing.
Danzaria revealed that the House is deeply concerned about the strike which seems to have defied all efforts made to find solution.
It will be recalled that the union embarked on the strike on the 14th of February after the federal government failed to meet some of its demands; some of which includes the release of revitalization funds for universities, renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement, release of earned allowances for university lecturers, and the deployment of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution.
