In a bid to enhance safety on Nigerian roads, Pomegranate Nigeria Limited, a leading logistics company, has presented breathalysers to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command.
The presentation, which took place on Tuesday at the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ibara office in Abeokuta, Ogun State, was part of the organization’s efforts to reduce road accidents caused by drunk driving.
The Chief Executive Officer of Pomegranate Nigeria Limited, Mr Wole Elusakin led the presentation, which highlighted the company’s commitment to road safety. “As a responsible logistics company, we recognize the importance of safety on our roads, particularly for our drivers and other stakeholders,” Elusakin said.
“Our focus at Pomegranate Nigeria Limited is to provide efficient and reliable logistics solutions to our clients, prioritizing safety, quality, and customer satisfaction,” Elusakin explained.
According to him, “Our basic call to action as a logistic company is safety on the road. We prioritize safety and prompt delivery of goods, and this initiative is a demonstration of our commitment to this goal.”
The initiative focuses on reducing accidents caused particularly among articulated vehicle drivers.
He informed that Breathalysers are commonly used to detect and prevent drunk driving, ensure workplace safety, and enforce law and order.
According to Elusakin, the breathalysers have several advantages, including their ability to detect alcohol levels quickly and accurately, and their ease of use.
Nothing that the company is working with partnering organizations, including First Adequate Insurance Broker, represented by Dr. Bola Azeez, and Idrive, represented by Engr Femi Aderibigbe,he said
Pomegranate Nigeria Limited has a future plan to expand its operations to 49 sub-Saharan African nations, 17 Middle East nations, and selected nations outside these regions.
In his remarks, Sector Commander, FRSC, Ogun State Command, Akinwunmi Fasakin, commended Pomegranate Nigeria Limited for its efforts in promoting road safety. “Safety on our roads is a collective responsibility, and we appreciate the company’s commitment to this cause,” Fasakin said. “The donation of breathalysers is a significant contribution to our efforts to reduce accidents on our roads. We will work closely with Pomegranate Nigeria Limited and its partners to ensure the effective implementation of this initiative.”
Elusakin was accompanied by Pomegranate Nigeria Limited’s Adekunle Adebambo, Head of Operations, and Pomegranate Nigeria Limited’s Mrs. Jumoke Aladetuyi, Head of Finance and Control.
