The governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Lagos State, Olajide Adediran, has called for the resignation of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, over the level of building collapse in the state since 2019.
This followed the collapse of a seven-storey building at Oniru Estate, Victoria Island, earlier this week, which led to the death of no fewer than six persons.
Adediran, in a statement signed by his media aide, Gbenga Ogunleye, added that the Lagos State Governor has made many unfulfilled promises to prevent these disasters and the attendant avoidable deaths.
Responding to the call, the media aide to the Lagos State governor reiterated that Governor Sanwo-Olu has not hesitated to investigate the cause of such incidents and has always wielded the big stick where necessary.
