A Daf truck on Friday rammed into a building at Adewusi village on Abeokuta – Ibadan highway killing a pregnant woman and a minor.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Spokesperson, of Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps ( TRACE) confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta.
Akinbiyi explained that the incident occurred at 6:49 am in the village around Kila in the Odeda local government area of the state.
The TRACE spokesman noted that the truck marked BDJ 112 XF was at excessive speed, lost control, and rammed into the building.
He stated that the deceased were all occupants of the building.
“The vehicle is a loaded cement truck coming from Ewekoro transiting onward Ibadan,” he said.
He stated that three male adults, a pregnant woman, and two male children were involved in the accident, saying that four people were injured in the incident.
Akinbiyi explained that the injured were taken to State Hospital, Odeda while the deceased were deposited at the morgue of the same hospital.
He said that the command had called for the deployment of policemen to calm the situation because of the angry villager’s youth.
He enjoined articulated vehicle drivers to avoid speeding and also ensure they maintain service of their vehicles as and when due to avoid crashes.(NAN)
